The three-day rhythm
Friday and Saturday evenings bring illuminations, video mapping, music, Champagne bars and fireworks to Avenue de Champagne. Saturday daytime centres on gastronomy, demonstrations and tasting activities. Sunday is known for the parade of hundreds of vintage vehicles.
The detailed 2026 programme is due from the organiser in autumn. Use the confirmed dates now, then recheck exact times and access arrangements shortly before the event.
Where to stay
An Épernay hotel is the easiest choice because the main avenue becomes the destination. Rooms in the centre disappear early and prices rise for the festival weekend.
Reims provides more accommodation, but late-evening return transport should be verified rather than assumed. A taxi after fireworks will be in demand.
How to plan the day
Keep the morning calm: visit Château Perrier, book one cellar experience or join a half-day grower tour. Have an early meal before entering the busy avenue.
Security arrangements may limit entrances and bags. The organiser has previously advised arriving early and travelling light; follow the current official instructions when the 2026 plan is released.
Tickets and Champagne
The main festive evenings have traditionally been free and unticketed, while tastings, meals and cellar visits may require payment or reservations. Never buy supposed general entrance tickets without checking the official organiser.
Use public transport or a designated driver if you plan to taste Champagne. Once you arrive, the centre is easy to cover on foot.
